TO Parliament

The unicameral "Fale Alea" is the legislative assembly of the constitutional monarchy under King Topou VI. Like some other representational buildings in Tonga's capital, the parliament house was prefabricated in New Zealand. Out of the 28 members of parliament only 17 are directly elected, the remaining 11 are appointed by the 33 hereditary nobles of Tonga or ex officio members.
