Introduction
The curved roof of Thailand's Parliament House distinguishes it as a building from the modern period of Thai architecture, which reflected the cultural transition in economic, social and political life from the 30s to the 70s. Elections to the bicameral parliament in 2014 were annulled after the outnumbered opposition blocked polling stations in protest of the elections, because it demands an appointed people's council as opposed to a democratically elected government.
