Introduction
The legislative "Yuan" has replaced the former National Assembly in a series of reforms until the latter's suspension in 2005. Parliamentary conduct is lively, and brawls and fist fights involving dozens of legislators have occurred multiple times. In March of 2014, students have occupied the debating chamber, demanding the renegotiation of an economic cooperation agreement with China and legislation that grants parliament the right to scrutinise such agreements.
